Manuka Honey MGO™Manuka Honey has a natural compound that is responsible for manuka honey's unique health-giving properties. Manuka Health's products have been tested and certified by independent laboratories. Methylglyoxal levels range from 100 to 700 mg/kg. For example, honey labeled MGO™ 100+ contains at least 100mg of dietary Methylglyoxal per kilogram of Manuka Honey.
All types of honey contain hydrogen peroxide which has proven anti-bacterial properties. However, these properties vary widely and can be destroyed by light and heat.
